Job Announcement: Assistant School Age Program Coordinator 

The Family Learning Center – Boulder, CO

Salary: $35,000/year | Temporary-to-Permanent Opportunity Position


Overview: Under the supervision of the School Age Program Director and Assistant Director, the Assistant School Age Program Coordinator will support and oversee daily program activities, develop educational materials, build strong relationships with school liaisons, and coordinate special events and field trips. This is a growth-focused role designed to prepare the selected candidate to assume the position of Elementary Program Coordinator within 6 to 12 months, based on performance and readiness. 


Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement STEAM-focused learning activities for weekly Friday sessions.

• Develop engaging and meaningful educational content for elementary-aged students.

• Maintain records and track students' academic progress.

• Build and maintain partnerships with Community Liaisons at Columbine, University Hill, and Whittier Elementary Schools.

• Supervise and support daily activities for students in the School Age Program.

• Plan and coordinate field trips for in-service days and summer programs.

• Organize and conduct parent meetings (once in fall and once in spring).

• Collaborate with the program team to plan special events such as holiday gatherings and back-to-school nights.

• Assist in maintaining an organized and clean learning environment.

• Drive Learning Center vans for field trips as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children ages 7 to 11 and engaging with families or the public.

• Must demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, respect, and flexibility.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Must pass FBI and CBI criminal background checks.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van (preferred).



Compensation:

• Annual Salary: $35,000

• Vacation follows the BVSD school calendar (no separate vacation accrual).


Work Schedule: Part-time (fewer than 30 hours a week), salaried position. Workdays align with the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) calendar.
