Brenda Ingram-Lyle

Co-founder and Executive Director

She is the mother of two daughters, L'Shawn and Nanette, and two sons, Cameron and Jamathan. She has three grandchildren, Omari, TJ and Brittany. Lyle was raised in Los Angeles, Calif., graduated from Los Angeles Southwest College and attended Brigham Young University and the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is the recipient of numerous awards including Zonta Woman of the Year, League of Women Voters "Citizen of Achievement," Ambassador Swanee, Hunt's 5,000 Leadership Award, and Community Action's "Educator of the Year." She has received distinguished recognition from Rocky Mountain Adoption Exchange, Boulder County Latino Association, Boulder Chamber Commerce, Denver Post and the Boulder Daily Camera.

Mary Schmidt

Business Manager

Originally from Illinois, Mary moved to Boulder about 20 years ago from San Francisco. She has one son, and she has worked at FLC over seven years. She has a degree in Business and an associates degree in Accounting.

Ramona Thomas

Preschool Director

She has been working at the Center for over 20 years, and works with children ages two and nine months to four. She really enjoys her job and loves watching the children as they learn new things and explore the world around them. She has an Early Childhood Directors Certification and is a certified High School Curriculum Trainer.

Monica Ibarra

Pre-kindergarten Director of the Family Learning Center

Monica has lived in Boulder for over 18 years since moving from Mexico. She has been at the Family Learning Center for over 13 years.

Pilar Aguilar

Director of Family Literacy and Outreach

She is from Mexico and has four children. After being a parent volunteer for about three months in 1985, she became a teacher's assistant. She left the center in 1989 for a year to study full-time and then returned to teach. She received her Colorado Early Childhood certification with honors and has been with the Center for 18 years.

Mark has been with the Center for over 3 years. He is responsible for the computers, servers, web pages and databases.
