The After School Program

At the end of every semester we ask volunteers to fill out an exit survey. Here are some of the responses that we have gotten over the years. We hope that these comments inspire you to work with our kids.

What was the most positive aspect of your experience at the Family Learning Center? (more comments at bottom)

· “Being able to teach kids a new way to do some things-giving a new perspective.”

· “The relationships I formed with some of the kids-seeing their skills improve throughout the year.”

· “I enjoyed working with the children and getting to know more about their culture and lives.”

· “Being able to help kids out and see that my little bit makes a difference.”

Would you recommend the FLC as a volunteer opportunity to friends or colleagues? Why or why not?

· Yes. “I would absolutely recommend it because I felt this experience helped me grow as a person, and I felt I helped the kids I worked with. It’s a very warm and comfortable environment.”
